Introduction

At anytime press the Back button on your web browser to return to the main menu.

Press Next to play the next scene and Previous to repeat the previous scene. Press the Callout button on the simulation to toggle on/off the labels.

Condensate returns

Condensate returns flowing into the receiver. The pump is controlled by the boiler and is sending water to boiler. Solenoid valve is closed; pipe into solenoid is always filled with city water.

Water level falls

The water level in receiver tank begins to fall as it is pumped to the boiler.

Solenoid opens

At the LOW water level setting, the float switch sends signal to open the solenoid valve letting city water flow into receiver tank.

Water level rises

As city water flows into receiver tank, the water level begins to rise.

Solenoid closes

At the HIGH water level setting, the float switch sends signal to close the solenoid valve, stopping city water flow into receiver tank.
